Review draft · not an accepted contract
Legal, district and independent security review remain required. Publishing these pages does not establish compliance.
What we do now
V1 prevents receipt of student records. FERPA is not limited to children under 13, and a counselor uploading a record does not remove its protection.
What we do not collect or enable
No student surveys, protected-category responses, biometric age checks, student ID documents or student birth dates in V1.
What changes in future versions
Before V2: evaluate eligibility and exceptional ages proportionately, school authority, consent or a valid exception, access/correction and disclosure limits. A checkbox alone is not an approved process.

FERPA concerns education records held by covered institutions and their handling by third parties; eligible-student rights generally transfer at age 18 or attendance at a postsecondary institution. COPPA addresses covered online collection from children under 13: being 13 is not being under 13. Ninth grade is commonly around 14–15 during the year, but some students may be 13 and grade is not an individual age check. COPPA's 2025 final amendments had a general compliance deadline of April 22, 2026.
Georgia student privacy law, PPRA, ADA/Section 504, truthful advertising, incidents, email/SMS and institutional procurement have different triggers. PPRA review is needed before covered student surveys; no generic authorization covers every use. IDEA, Title VI/IX, CIPA, HIPAA, other jurisdictions, social-media rules including Georgia SB 351 and payment standards remain conditional on actual activities. The current judicial status of SB 351 requires verification before relying on it. WCAG and OWASP ASVS are technical references; PCI DSS is a standard. None is a general certificate of legal compliance.
